Rent-A-Goalie is simple; we rent ice hockey goalies on demand for clients. How I got here, this was a fluke.

I’ve been playing the position since the age of 8. I worked for a company that sent me on an Oracle Database Administrators’ course (thanks to Computer Sciences Canada) and this is where I met Ted from Toronto.  We went out for lunch every day, and on the last day of the course, he told me about a service his hockey team required on a continual basis called Goalies R Us, and with that information, a light bulb turned on. (I should have bought him lunch…)

I called the director of Parks and Recreation and told him he was losing money on his ice rentals. He said yes, and I said I had a solution for you, where & when can we meet? (arena managers/foremans) We set a date…and four months later, we had a solution.

Rent-A-Goalie Inc. was legally incorporated in the province of Alberta on August 22nd, 1997. On March 24th/2000, the company logo (Red Mask, with the words, Rent-A-Goalie Inc inside the mask) became a Registered Trademark.

Rent-A-Goalie is now in its 11th year, we currently have 105 goalies on contract and 2 dispatchers.
