The shell construction of the X8 is made utilizing multiple layers of high quality fibreglass to create a shell that is very rigid and light weight. This rigid shell is mated with a high-impact absorbing liner system that utilizes varying densities of XLP. This allows the XLP to "give" more easily in light impacts (helping to reduce concussions), while still providing protection from severe forces. When SPORTMASK set out to design the new X8, we didn't only want to meet our customers' expectations; we wanted to blow them away! The new X8 mask is largely based on its big brother, the T3, while offering a more affordable alternative for goalies not wanting all the features of the more expensive T3. The X8 represents the pinnacle of goalie mask design and technology, it combines SPORTMASK's trademark craftsmanship and safety features all at a price that won't break the bank! The shell is ultra light and is available with custom chin length. We recognize that the X8 isn't the cheapest mask on the market. In fact, the X8 is priced where most others "mid-level" masks are.
